Say what you will, but Taylor Swift is wholesome, talented, hard working and beautiful. Not everyone has to sing about the marginalized or other social issues. It would be disingenuous of her since she is living such a sheltered life. Let her sing about issues she is comfortable about. She also sang about some heavy themes such as death (Bigger Than the Whole Sky), her mother's battle with cancer (Soon You'll Get Better), a kid who died of cancer (Ronan), her grandmother who was a singer and TV personality (Marjorie), etc.
Speaking of Lizzo, she turned out to a major scumbag. Read about her fairly recent sexual scandal. So, it's a very poor example to mention in your essay... Compare that to Taylor who encouraged her fans to go voting at elections and never caused major troubles.
